Beschreibung
This fine peated malt is from the Caol Ila Distillery, the powerhouse of whisky production on the Isle of Islay. We have tamed a youthful, vibrant and boisterous 8-year-old spirit by finishing it in barriques previously used for maturing exquisite French red wine, from Pomerol’s most famed vineyards.
The slow-grown French oak, with its refined, silky tannins, has added sophistication to this peated Islay malt. Having nurtured this potent malt for 2½ years in luxurious wine casks, the results are impressive - a true favourite amongst the Murray McDavid Team.
Nose: BBQ embers, coastal, red apple
Palate: floral peat, zesty citrus, hint of honey
Finish: oily, mellow oak, lingering peat
